For this one I'll start with a little about me, I work as a sales associate with Dollar General. Every day at work I hand out a receipt to every customer who comes through my line, and on that receipt there is a toll free number with a survey. The survey is based on the customer service you received during your visit, and when you complete the survey, you are automatically entered to win $1000, and if you win your cashier also receives $100.
That's the back ground. Here's the food for thought; I would estimate that about 45% of my customers throw away their receipt before they even leave the store, and a further 54% of the receipts that leave the store are either forgotten, or thrown away when the customer returns home. That leaves approximately 1% of customers who actually preform the survey.
Now, further facts. Every customer who actually completes the survey is only allowed to do so ONCE every thirty days, so the minority of people who actually bother to do the surveys can only enter once... that limits the number of entries even further.
I'm hoping that everyone is keeping up with me. What all of this adds up to is that yes, every Dollar General in the country participates in the survey, but in my experience people are pretty equally lazy everywhere. Your chances of winning one of these drawings, if you enter once a month are much higher than say, someone who plays the lottery. By completing a short survey, you can earn more than most part time jobs pay in a month. It's worth the time it takes.
Before ANYONE complains about luck, the lottery has it right on one thing. You have to play to win. Not everyone who enters will win, but NO ONE that doesn't take the time to do the survey will!
